Rx Clomicalm 80 mg x 30 Tablets

Clomicalm is a prescription tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) used as part of a comprehensive behavioral management program to treat separation anxiety in dogs over 6 months of age. When combined with behavior modification techniques such as desensitization and counterconditioning, Clomicalm may help reduce inappropriate barking, destructive behavior, and inappropriate elimination (urination or defecation).

• Indication (Dogs): Management of separation anxiety, inappropriate barking, destructive behavior, and inappropriate elimination in dogs over 6 months old when used with behavior modification.

• Indication (Other Species): Not approved for use in cats or other animals.

• Feline Safety: Not for feline use.

• Use Only Under Vet Supervision: Requires regular veterinary monitoring. Inform your veterinarian about all medications, supplements, and recent changes in your dogs environment. May interact with MAO inhibitors, anesthetics, anticholinergic drugs, hepatic enzyme inhibitors/inducers, and other CNS-active medications.

• Contraindications/Cautions:

  • Do not use in dogs with hypersensitivity to clomipramine or other TCAs.

  • Not for male breeding dogs (may cause testicular hypoplasia).

  • Do not administer with MAO inhibitors (within 14 days before/after).

  • Avoid in dogs with a seizure history or those on drugs lowering seizure threshold.

  • Use cautiously in dogs with cardiovascular disease, liver disease, glaucoma, urinary retention, or reduced GI motility.

  • Not for dogs under 6 months of age.

• Storage: Store at 5977F (1525C) in a tightly sealed container, away from moisture and light.

• Regulatory: Prescription required; federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
