Atopica is for the treatment of chronic manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common allergic skin diseases in dogs and is caused by allergens such as house dust mites or pollens which stimulate an exaggerated immune response in atopic dogs. The disease is chronic, recurrent, and requires lifelong management.

• How It Works: Fights allergens caused by house dust mites or pollens.

• Administration: Initially given daily until satisfactory clinical improvement is seen (typically within 4 weeks). Maintenance dosing may be reduced to every other day or every 34 days under veterinary guidance.

• Special Precautions: Not for dogs under 6 months or under 2 kg; not for breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Monitor for signs of malignancy, diabetes, or renal issues. Avoid live vaccines during treatment.

• Possible Side Effects: Mild gastrointestinal upset, gingival hyperplasia, skin changes, lethargy, or muscle weakness (often resolve after stopping treatment).
