Apoquel is a prescription allergy medication for dogs that provides fast-acting relief from itching (pruritus) and inflammation caused by flea allergies, food allergies, contact dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis. Relief begins within 4 hours and is effectively controlled within 24 hours. Apoquel can be used both short-term to quickly manage symptoms and long-term to help keep itching and inflammation under control.

Apoquel is safe to use alongside other treatments, including NSAIDs, parasiticides, antibiotics, vaccines, and allergen-specific immunotherapy. It works by selectively inhibiting Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes, which target itch-inducing cytokines, offering relief while minimizing impact on the immune system.
