Rx Clavamox Drops 62.5 mg

Clavamox (amoxicillin trihydrate/clavulanate potassium) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for dogs and cats, combining amoxicillin with the beta-lactamase inhibitor clavulanate potassium to enhance bacterial eradication. This formulation is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections, including those caused by beta-lactamaseproducing organisms.

• Strength & Count: 62.5 mg per mL oral suspension after reconstitution.

• Class: Potentiated penicillin antibiotic.

• Indication (Dogs): Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections (wounds, abscesses, cellulitis, superficial/juvenile and deep pyoderma) and periodontal infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

• Indication (Cats): Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections (wounds, abscesses, cellulitis/dermatitis) and urinary tract infections (cystitis) caused by susceptible bacteria.

• Dosage: Dogs 6.25 mg/lb (1 mL/10 lb) twice daily. Cats 62.5 mg (1 mL) twice daily. Duration varies by infection type; do not exceed 30 days of treatment.

• Special Notes:

  • Reconstitution required: Add 14 mL of water to the 15 mL bottle, shake vigorously.

  • Each mL contains 50 mg amoxicillin activity + 12.5 mg clavulanic acid activity.

  • Discard any unused suspension after 10 days. Refrigeration required after mixing.

• Contraindications/Cautions: Do not use in animals allergic to penicillin’s or cephalosporins. Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs. Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been established.

• Storage: Store unmixed product at room temperature (6877F). Keep reconstituted suspension refrigerated and discard after 10 days.

• Regulatory: Prescription required; federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
