Prednisone is a potent corticosteroid prescribed for dogs to manage a variety of inflammatory and allergic conditions. It is used to treat collagen, dermal, allergic, ocular, otic, and musculoskeletal conditions known to respond to corticosteroid therapy. Commonly prescribed for skin issues (eczema, dermatitis, burns), allergic reactions (urticaria, asthma, pollen sensitivities), eye conditions (iritis, glaucoma, uveitis), and certain joint and muscle disorders. Prednisone may also be used in acute adrenal insufficiency to correct metabolic imbalances.
